In August, the country earned $861.55 million from seafood exports, up by 12.6 per cent over the previous month and by 2.5 per cent over the same month of last year.

In the first eight months of this year, the U.S was the biggest seafood export market with the export turnover of $982.9 million, accounted for 17.6 per cent of the total and increased by over 7 per cent over the same period last year.

EU ranked second with $962.21 million, up by 12 per cent; and then Japan - $868.97 million, up by 4.7 per cent; China - $638.53 million, down by 4.6 per cent; South Korea - $538.9 million, up by 13.3 per cent; the South East Asia - $433.1 million, up by 14.3 per cent year – on – year. 

In the first eight months of this year, Vietnam’s exports of seafood to Cambodia increased sharply by 86.2 per cent to $16.86 million; to the U.A.E – up by 80 per cent to $56.88 million; to India – up by 57.4 per cent to $19.85 million; to Egypt – up by 49.9 per cent to $29.84 million; and to Portugal – up by 47.3 per cent to $42.9 million.

However, the exports of seafood to Saudi Arabia fell sharply by 67.4 per cent to $14.06 million; to Indonesia – down by 43.4 per cent to $2.46 million; to Czech – down by 36 per cent to $ 4.18 million; to Brazil – down by 30.7 per cent to $49.2 million; and to Denmark – down by 32.5 per cent to $29.81 million.
