Vietnam to impose tariffs on steel imports

AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam Steel Association believed that 2016 Vietnam steel industry still faces stiff competition from cheap Chinese steel products.

 Many Vietnam steel companies to ask the government to take the necessary measures to restrict imports, in order to protect domestic steel industry and workers.


According to the Vietnam Ministry of Trade and Industry announced on March 7, Vietnam to impose provisional safeguard tax on import of these two types of products, for slab rate was 23.3%, steel strip was 14.2%, and boron and chromium alloy (except for hot-rolled plates) was 14.2% tax will also be imposed on it.
