VN, India head to trade turnover of US$15 bln

 Thursday, August 25,2016

AsemconnectVietnam - PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc proposed Viet Nam and India enhance cooperation in trade and investment, striving to raise the bilateral trade turnover to US$15 billion in the near future.

The PM made that statement at his reception for Indian newly-appointed Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni on August 23.

The PM expected that the Ambassador will do his utmost to make active contributions to promoting the comprehensive relations.

He affirmed that Viet Nam hails India’s Look East Policy as India considered Viet Nam as a pillar in the policy.

He welcomed Indian PM Narendra Modi’s future visit to Viet Nam, saying it is meaningful in the context that the two sides will celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties (January 7, 1972).

Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni said the Indian PM’s visit to Viet Nam will upgrade the two nations’ relationship to a higher level and a number of cooperative agreements in all fields will be inked.

He suggested the two nations strengthen cooperation in terms of science, technology, finance, credit, information and telecommunications.
