Jetstar Pacific to add more flights to Guangzhou this summer
Friday, May 18,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam’s low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific will operate more flights on HCMC-Guangzhou and Hanoi-Guangzhou routes this summer to meet the high demand for air travel, the airline said on May 16.
The airline will operate seven weekly flights on each of the two routes to the Chinese city of Guangzhou, instead of four and five current flights respectively. The additional flights will be offered between July 1 and October 26.
Vietnam is among the top destinations for Chinese visitors, along with Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the U.S., and Italy. Up to 70% of respondents in a survey said safety is the key factor affecting their choices for tourist attractions, followed by expenses for travel and sightseeing.
The country welcomed 1.7 million Chinese travelers in the first four months of this year, soaring 39.7% year-on-year. That the carrier operates extra flights with reasonable fares connecting Guangzhou with the two commercial and travel hubs of Vietnam will help boost the growth and sustainable development of tourism of the two countries.
The carrier operated flights to Guangzhou at the beginning of last year, and have transported nearly 400,000 visitors, mainly tourists and business people. It is expanding more international air routes linking Vietnam with Asian destinations such as Singapore, Bangkok, Osaka, Taipei, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou.
Passengers can now book tickets on the website www.jetstar.com and ticket boxes, and certified agents, with daily tickets starting from VND180,000 (US$8) per one-way flight exclusive of tax and fee.
