 Tuesday, July 4,2023

AsemconnectVietnam - On Tuesday, Robusta coffee prices in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the country's largest coffee-growing area rose by VND600 to VND64,800 – VND65,400 per kg compared to Yesterday, according to Kinhtedothi.

Gia Nghia of Dak Nong provided the maximum price of VND65,400/kg, while traders in Lam Dong province offered the lowest price of VND64,800/kg. Robusta coffee rose to VND64,800 per kg in Bao Loc, Di Linh, and Lam Ha; to VND 65,100 – VND 65,200 per kg in Dak Lak; to VND 65,300 – VND 65,400 per kg in Dak Nong; to VND 65,000 per kg in Kon Tum, and to VND64,900 - VND 65,000 per kg in Gia Lai.
Coffee is an export highlight of agricultural products in the first half of 2023, as the industry's export revenue earned 2 billion USD in the period, the General Department of Customs has announced.
According to statistics from the department, in June 2023, the country exported 150,000 tonnes of coffee, up 0.1% compared to the same period last year with export prices increasing nearly 2 USD per tonnes.
The sector has been listed in “one-billion-USD” club since 2010 and reached its peak of 4.056 billion USD in 2022. The club includes exports that fetch at least 1 billion USD a year.
Vietnamese coffee has been present in 38 markets worldwide, of which it enjoys an export turnover of over 10 million in 25 markets and more than 100 million USD in six traditional ones.
If export turnover reaches about 360 million USD a month from now until end of this year, the sector will set a new record of 4.5 billion USD in 2023, an increase of 10.9% compared to 2022.
To reach the target, the sector needs to implement several measures, including boosting production, expanding coffee growing area and increasing the ratio of processed coffee in order to increase export value.
