AsemconnectVietnam - According to the statistics figures of the General Department of Customs, the export turnover of Vietnamese goods to the UK market in March of 2023 reached 467.2 million USD, up by 5.5% compared to the previous month.

Generally, in the first three months of the year, the figure reached 1.4 billion USD, down by 0.28% over the same period last year.
Leading export turnover in the first 3 months of 2023 was the group of phones and components, reaching 413.2 million USD, up by 48.2% over the same period last year, accounting for 29.3 of the total. The next was the group of other machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts, reaching 191.7 million USD, up by 12.4%, accounting for 13.6% of the export proportion. And then was footwear of all kinds, reaching 169.8 million USD, up by 10.6%, accounting for 12% of the proportion.
In the first 3 months of 2023, a number of items with export turnover increased significantly compared to the same period last year, such as plastic products increased by 10.4%; cashew nuts increased by 26.8%; vegetables and fruits increased by 30.3%; paper and paper products increased by 166%.
After more than 2 years of implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland (UKVFTA), the UK market has viewed the image of Vietnamese businesses and Vietnamese products more positively because the volume of goods imported from Vietnam increased sharply.
In order to be able to more effectively take advantage of the opportunities brought by the UK-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), Vietnamese businesses need to ensure that their products and production processes meet British standards.
