AsemconnectVietnam - In the first 2 months of this year, Vietnam’s raw cashew imports grew by double digits. Cambodia continued to be the largest cashew market for Vietnam.

The preliminary statistics figures from the General Department of Customs showed that, in the first two months of 2023, Vietnam imported 272,000 tonnes of raw cashew nuts, with a value of more than 360 million USD, up by 78.2% in volume and up by 52.2 % in value over the same period of 2022.
Cambodia continued to be the largest cashew market for Vietnam. In the past two months, the total cashew imports from this country were estimated at nearly 130 million USD, up by 75.6% over the same period last year. For the whole year of 2022, Vietnam accounted for 98.5% of Cambodia's cashew exports, equivalent to 660,000 tonnes, worth of more than 1 billion USD.
In the opposite direction, Vietnam’s cashew exports in the first 2 months of the year only reached 353 million USD, down by 7.4% over the same period last year. Thus, in 2 months, the cashew industry had a trade deficit of nearly 7 million USD. In the whole year of 2022, the trade surplus of the industry reached nearly 400 million USD.
