ASIAD 2018: Vietnam beats Nepal 2-0, qualifying for next round
Friday, August 17,2018AsemconnectVietnam - Vietnam, together with Japan, will enter the next round after beating Nepal 2-0 at the 2018 Asian Games (ASIAD) in Indonesia on August 16.
By the 19th minute, Vietnam had made several attacks but missed the target.
After nearly half an hour of play, Vietnam attacked from both sides, but was unable to breach Nepal’s defence.
In the 31st minute, Anh Duc headed the ball into the net from close quarters after collecting a pass from Phan Van Duc, opening the score for Vietnam.
In the second half, it was Van Duc’s turn to score, stealing the ball from Nepal and making a neat kick. Vietnam was two up in the 63rd minute.
Japan defeated Pakistan 4-0 in an earlier match of Group D on the same day. Vietnam will play against Japan on August 19 for the first place of Group D.
In Group B, Thailand and Bangladesh tied one all, while Uzbekistan won 6-0 over Qatar.
Meanwhile, in Group C, the United Arab Emirates settled a 4-1 victory over Timor Leste and China crushed Syria 2-0.
